في يوم السبت الموافق 30 نوفمبر 2023، فجعت المملكة العربية السعودية برحيل سمو الأمير محمد بن سعود بن نايف بن عبد العزيز آل سعود، أمير منطقة حائل، عن عمر يناهز 50 عاماً، بعد صراع مع المرض. وقد نعاه خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبد العزيز، وأمر بتشييع جثمانه إلى مثواه الأخير في مقبرة العود بالرياض.
ولد الأمير محمد بن سعود في الرياض عام 1973، وتلقى تعليمه الأولي في مدارسها، ثم التحق بكلية الملك فهد الأمنية وتخرج منها برتبة ملازم. عمل في وزارة الداخلية في عدة مناصب، منها وكيل إمارة منطقة حائل، ثم أميراً للمنطقة في عام 2017.
خلال توليه إمارة حائل، عمل الأمير محمد بن سعود على تطوير المنطقة وتحسين مستوى الخدمات المقدمة للمواطنين. وقد أطلق العديد من المبادرات والمشاريع التنموية، مثل مشروع “حائل الخضراء” لزراعة مليون شجرة، ومشروع “حائل عاصمة السياحة العربية 2022”.
كما اهتم الأمير محمد بن سعود بدعم الشباب وتشجيعهم على الابتكار والإبداع، فأطلق مبادرة “حائل تبتكر” لدعم رواد الأعمال والمبتكرين، ونظم العديد من الفعاليات والمسابقات الثقافية والرياضية للشباب.
وإلى جانب اهتمامه بالتنمية والشباب، حرص الأمير محمد بن سعود على الاهتمام بالجانب الاجتماعي والإنساني، فأطلق مبادرة “حائل تتكاتف” لدعم الأسر المحتاجة وذوي الدخل المحدود، ونظم العديد من الحملات التطوعية والخيرية لمساعدة المحتاجين.
وقد حظي الأمير محمد بن سعود بحب واحترام أهالي حائل، الذين رأوا فيه قائداً حكيماً وعادلاً، يسعى دائماً لخدمتهم وتلبية احتياجاتهم. وقد نعاه العديد من المسؤولين والشخصيات العامة، مؤكدين على دوره البارز في تطوير المنطقة وخدمة الوطن.
إن رحيل الأمير محمد بن سعود يمثل خسارة كبيرة للمملكة العربية السعودية، التي فقدت أحد أبنائها البررة المخلصين، الذين أفنوا حياتهم في خدمة الدين والوطن. وستظل مسيرته الخيرة وإنجازاته العظيمة شاهدة على عظمته وإخلاصه، رحمه الله رحمة واسعة وأسكنه فسيح جناته.

In an unprecedented achievement, young Saudi woman Maryam bint Khalid Al-Otaibi has developed a smart application aimed at facilitating the lives of people with special needs. This accomplishment comes as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to empower women in the field of technology and innovation.

Maryam, aged 27, holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from King Saud University. She began her journey in the world of technology at a young age, where she enjoyed designing websites and developing applications.

In 2022, Maryam participated in the “Special Needs Hackathon” organized by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). During this event, she presented the idea for the “Noor” application, which helps the visually impaired navigate independently within public buildings.

“My goal with this application was to empower people with special needs and make their lives easier,” says Maryam. “I was inspired by a personal experience with one of my relatives who suffers from visual impairment.”

The “Noor” application won first place in the competition and received widespread praise from the audience. It also attracted the attention of several major technology companies in the Kingdom.

According to official statistics, there are more than 3 million people with special needs in Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom’s Vision 2030 aims to improve their quality of life and integrate them into society.

Commenting on Maryam’s achievement, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabai’, advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, said: “We are proud of our young talents who contribute to building a promising digital future for the Kingdom. Maryam is a role model for ambitious Saudi women.”

Currently, Maryam is working on developing an advanced version of the “Noor” application in collaboration with the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. She also plans to launch a startup specializing in developing technological solutions for people with special needs.

“I aspire to be a role model for young Saudi women and encourage them to enter the field of technology,” Maryam concludes. “With knowledge and determination, nothing is impossible.”

Maryam’s success comes at a time when the Kingdom is seeking to enhance the role of women in various sectors, especially in the fields of science, technology, and innovation. Her achievement is expected to inspire a new generation of Saudi innovators.

Next February will witness the launch of numerous major tourism and entertainment events in various regions of the Kingdom, as part of the General Entertainment Authority’s efforts to enhance Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading regional and global tourist destination.

The head of the General Entertainment Authority, Advisor Turki Al-Sheikh, confirmed that February will witness the launch of more than 80 diverse entertainment events in various regions of the Kingdom, catering to all tastes and suitable for different age groups.

Al-Sheikh explained that the Authority has allocated a huge budget to organize these events, which will contribute to stimulating domestic tourism movement and attracting visitors from outside the Kingdom, expecting the number of visitors during February to reach more than two million visitors.

These events come within the framework of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to diversify sources of income and enhance the entertainment and tourism sector as one of the most important promising sectors in the Kingdom.

The events are scheduled to begin on February 22 with the launch of the “Winter at Tantora” festival in Al-Ula, which will last for two consecutive months, making it one of the most prominent tourism festivals in the Kingdom.
